About The Founder

Jasmine M. McKinney grew up in the village of Lincoln Heights, Cincinnati, Ohio.  She witnessed her mother's struggles with drug addiction and homelessness during her upbringing. Despite her young age, she made every effort to assist her mother and experienced firsthand, the challenges she faced. Inspired by her experiences, she conceived The Step Up Program, driven by a deep-seated desire to aid those in similar circumstances. As a teenager, she fled her home in search of safety and found herself homeless, further solidifying her commitment to helping others in need.

The Step Up Program offers an individual and holistic approach to homelessness. We believe through life skills and job training; We can instill self-sufficiency. We are committed to keeping families together.
We provide transportation assistance, counseling, and essential resources like food and clothing, fostering holistic well-being. We recognize the inherent value and dignity of every individual and are dedicated to promoting an environment where everyone feels respected, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Our goal is to open The Step Up House, Transitional home.
